Oradea Regional Office for Cross Border Cooperation, BRECO, within the Hungary-Romania Cross-Border Co-operation Programme 2007 – 2013, in partnership with the Oradea State Philharmonics, the Municipality of Oradea and ProBikers Association have teamed up to organise in Oradea a series of cultural and sports events on 20-21 September 2014, dedicated to the European Cooperation Day and European Mobility Week annual campaigns.
Everyone is invited to join the celebrations, which will be marked by many colorful events, addressing a large audience.
On September 20, let’s roll together in the BikeFest Semi Marathon, starting at 8 o’clock a.m. from the Olympic Swimming Pool! The event is organized for mountain bike lovers, be they individuals or families.
On the same day, in the 1 Decembrie Park, very skilled bikers can also test their skills on wheels within the national championship entitled BikeTrial Gravity Fighters. The organisers expect a large number of participants at both events, coming from Romania and Hungary. Several promotional gifts will be distributed to the competitors, such as EC-day t-shirts and lunch boxes.
In addition, a HURO pavilion will be set next to the Bike Trial area, where the general public will be able to receive information about the celebration, as well as informational materials showcasing project results and highlighting the importance of territorial co-operation.
If you are not the typical marathon runner but you are fond of biking and saving the environment, don’t worry! We have just the right program for you on 21 September! All you need is a bit of enthusiasm to cycle with us, for a better environment, on the new bike path connecting Oradea and Berettyóújfalu, which has been financed within BEORKER project.
The half an hour long route sets off at 17:00 o’clock in Borş Commune and ends in Oradea, in Magnoliei Park, right in time for the participants to join the BikeFest Critical Mass, from 18 o’clock p.m. Critical mass events aim to increase awareness towards using alternative and non-polluting means of transportation.
Hurry, if you are one of the first 1000 participants you will receive a vest, to keep you safe and visible in traffic!
As for the second part of the day, celebrations will continue from 19:00 o’clock with a classical music concert, including a mixed repertoire of well-known Romanian and Hungarian composers, performed by Oradea Philharmonic Orchestra. Entry to the event is free.
The invitation and detailed agenda of the events is available here and on www.probikers.ro.
