Magdolna Kalapáti is the new Head of the Joint Technical Secretariat. We asked her to answer a few questions about herself and her vision and expectations in her new position.
What is your background in the management of EU funds?
I came aboard the JTS team at the end of February 2011. However, I am a so-called “veteran” in the field of the management of EU Programmes and cross-border co-operation, having worked within Vati Nonprofit Kft., the host organization of the JTS for over 14 years. I started out as a Programme manager and later became the Head of the Békéscsaba Territorial Office, where I had the opportunity to be directly involved, among others, in different implementation and control activities related to the HURO Programme and other national and cross-border Programmes.
What is the main challenge you expect to face in the HU-RO Programme?
One of the advantage and sometimes challenge we are facing is the international environment. Moreover, finding the right balance between the strong requirements, diversified procedures is also a real challenge, especially if you want to stay creative in this process.
How do you imagine our Programme in 2013?
I imagine many successful projects already implemented or under implementation serving the best interests of this area. I believe that by means of our projects this region will become a better place to live, visit and work in. I also imagine that I will have the opportunity to take part in many project events, where I can share not only best-practice examples but also the opportunities and added-value represented by the Programme.
We welcome her aboard the JTS and we wish her success in fulfilling her plans!
